Created by an inventor, for inventors
Inventarium is a service center of excellence in the field of inventions in Canada. Created by Daniel Paquette, better known as the Policeman-Inventor, Inventarium enables Canadian inventors to protect their invention ideas, obtain patents and market their product at an affordable price.
The Passion and People behind Inventarium
Whether you are looking for patent help, invention services or marketing expertise, Inventarium has the passionate people to help you. On the creative side, Mr. Daniel Paquette, affectionately known as the policeman-inventor, is a prolific inventor himself. He has more than 20 inventions to his credit with one selling over 3,000,000 units. His inventor mind-set and passion for new ideas and products are felt by the inventors everyday. Before founding Inventarium, Mr. Paquette was founder and President of the Inventors’ Association for more than 20 years. On May 10, 2001, he retired after 30 successful years on the Montreal police force—and on May 11, 2001, the very next day, he founded Inventarium and could now pursue his passion fulltime. He has never let the invention community down.
As Mr. Paquette knew from experience, inventors needed someone with business sense. Ms. Morin, his associate, was the perfect complement. Ms. Morin spent 29 years in the financial field before retiring in 1999. Upon being asked to validate the Inventarium business plan and then comment, she saw an exciting second career where she could use all the knowledge and experience gained in the financial career to make other people’s dreams possible. She also liked the global potential of the project. Her experience in setting up new offices and troubleshooting in established branches gave Ms. Morin a deep understanding of what it takes to market services profitably, manage operations and satisfy the client. This experience coupled with a diploma in Business Management has given Inventarium the structure needed to expand nationally. Now inventors can rely not only on honesty and affordable services but also expertise that enable inventors to bring their products from mind-to-market quickly and cost-effectively.
You can avoid costly errors and overspending
Only an inventor understands the pain of having an invention stolen that eventually sells for millions of dollars for someone else or finding out that he/she needlessly paid 4 times the price for services, molds or patents. All this happened to Mr. Paquette. He hoped to one day change the situation for inventors. That day came in 2001, the day after his retirement from a successful career in the police force. All of Inventarium’s services have been set up to protect the inventor from costly errors and overspending while testing the marketability of the product.
The Mission Statement — We Build Dreams — Yours
The mission is to build dreams—yours, by offering services that enable you to bring products and ideas to market in a step-by-step process. The gradual process has two advantages. It allows you to eliminate an idea or product early in the process that may not have potential and you don’t overspend. Our promise is you won’t spend more than is necessary to optimize your idea’s potential. Inventarium’s objective is to become an international player within 10 years.
Four Services—Patent Assistance, Marketing Expertise, Engineering Counsel and Manufacturing Help
Few companies can actually bring a product from mind-to-matter-to-market but Inventarium can. Whether helping you with the patent process or negotiating with Wal-Mart, our staff has done it. These services include patent assistance, marketing expertise, engineering advice and manufacturing help, including quick prototyping.
There are no surprises for pricing or work being done. The four services are explained in detail under separate headings so our clients know what to expect. Being transparent is important to us and to our clients.
Six Steps to taking your product from mind-to-matter-to-market
Any successful project is always done in steps and there are major benefits to the gradual process. You eliminate early in the process products that don’t have potential but at the same time, as the product goes through the different stages, you add value to your idea. This is important when you are looking to license or for investors. Each step validates the decision to continue on or not, based on facts.
